I enable and analyse BC's Application Insights telemetry. Output: slowest pages, slowest posting routines, longest-locking transactions.
02 — SQL diagnosis
Direct SQL query analysis (BC on-prem) or BC's published execution plans (online). Wait stats, missing indexes, expensive scans identified.
03 — Targeted fixes
Index additions, FlowField optimisation, AL refactoring, page loading patterns. Each fix measured against a baseline.
04 — Rollback plan
Every change is reversible. You see the before/after metric and can revert if needed.
05 — Documentation
What was changed, why, expected outcomes, monitoring guidance. So your next developer doesn't undo my work.
The Performance Process
Step 1 — Telemetry sample (3-5 business days)
You enable telemetry capture. I analyse a representative week of activity. Output: a ranked problem list.
Step 2 — Fix & verify
Highest-impact problems first. Each fix tested in sandbox, deployed, measured. We track real metrics.
Step 3 — Sign-off & handover
Documented changes. Monitoring guidance. Optional retainer for ongoing watching.
Pricing
Performance work is sold as fixed-scope diagnostic + fix projects, or as time-and-materials blocks. Most issues are diagnosed and addressed within a few weeks of dedicated work. Complex multi-entity or heavily-customised systems can run longer — scope estimated before starting. Contact for quote.
